MSMPER300 Issue Work Permits

Qualification Overview

This unit of competency covers the skills and knowledge required to issue work permits in the workplace. It covers an understanding of the permit system and the limitations of each permit and making decisions regarding the need for and correct use of each permit.

Targeted Candidates

This unit of competency applies to personnel who are required to issue permits to work to persons conducting a variety of activities in workplace environments in which hazards exist or specific procedures need to be followed and monitored to protect the safety of personnel and the integrity of plant or process.

Outcomes

Candidates who undertake this training can be recognised as authorised permit issuers in the workplace subject to company and site-specific requirements.

Pre-requisite Unit of Competency

Competency in the unit of competency MSMWHS201 Conduct hazard analysis must be achieved prior to commencement.

Training and assessment is included in this package and will be completed before undertaking MSMPER300 Issue work permits.
